![]() ![]() So it was a nice twist to throw into Faster, Purple Worm!. You're doing PvP? I'm never playing with you again. That's how friendships end over 20 years. Troy Lavallee: Yeah, I mean you don't see that at most gaming tables. How fun was that to get to play? Because we don't really see that, especially in Faster, Purple Worm! Nobody needs to see that mug.Īnd then we got some very cool PvP in this because it was you and Kate versus Tiffany and Kate Micucci with them being the survivors. They were like, let's just put a mask on Troy. I also love that you going into self-preservation mode meant you died in the next thing that happened. And so it was nice to be a kind of bad guy, but still retain Bastion's personality at the same time. We're like, we both know what the outcome is, but we have to put on a good show in how we're playing off each other's moves. And again, everyone knows what's going on here, so it kind of feels like a wrestling match. You just have to try and push them to do the wrong thing. That'll never happen to him." And then I was the second to go, but I think, again, this was so long ago, but I think they told you, all right, here's the thing. You might have to spin the wheel of accents." And I'm like, "Oh God, what are we going to do?" And then when it happened to Kate, I was like, "Ah, I don't want that to happen to me." I started to go into self-preservation mode. They were like, "Hey, don't be surprised. I think we all knew going in that there was going to be a hook that might involve us getting up and going backstage, but they didn't say what it was. And then I have to ask, how fun was it to come back as the corrupted version of your character that was kind of just a bad influence on the people? And it's probably because everyone has a performance background. And even though we'd never played before, certainly never performed together before. When you're a player, find your moments to shine, and then make sure you're always opening up the stage to someone else. And it was nice to just kind of sit down and pick your moments because when you do these types of actual plays, and then this one, obviously, it's a TV show, I always think about it, like when we do our touring show for my company is pick your moments. So it was a really fun mixed bag of people with varying experiences across the table. You literally just play your character and then lean into me if you have a question about how the rules work."Īnd Tiffany had done some gaming, obviously Kate, this is her bread and butter. And so she was like, "How does this go?" And I was like, "Well, let me tell you, this is what I do for a living. But it was interesting, backstage before the show we were talking and Kate had never, I don't even know if she ever even picked up a D20. Obviously, I'd known Kate Micucci, and I'd seen Tiffany and Kate before as well. I showed up that day and I met them all for the first time. What was the fun part for you of having the adventure in a very easy singular location, but you guys were able to lean into both the horror and the gags very easily. I love that this was set in a haunted house, but it still had that Faster, Purple Worm! vibe where it's a haunted house, but this is still very silly. Troy Lavallee: He's the first Golden Bachelor. He's basically The Golden Bachelor, but instead of going on a reality dating show, he's going to go adventure with a bunch of new people. Troy Lavallee: Yeah, I'm sure I was watching some TV show that inspired me at the time, or maybe even a reality show. I want to see more of this character's backstory because I just want an entire arc of someone who was an adventurer, fell in love, and then it's like, Well, I guess I'll do this now after. This is a character that I really was interested in. ![]()
